Our government has these colored maps to indicate the risk. Some parts of Nigeria are indicated as "don't go, too dangerous" others as "not safe, don't go if you don't really have to go" But I'm not Nigerian so maybe the forum members who live there have a different opinion

Recommendations made by officials to the citizens of Romania:
Against the backdrop of heightened terrorist threats, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises Romanian citizens to avoid all travel to Nigeria. If Romanian citizens are already on the territory of this state, it is recommended to avoid any travel, in particular to the following states of the Nigerian Federation: Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Niger, Plateau, Sokoto, Yobe (all in the North), Akwaibom, Ananmbra, Bayelsa, Benue, Cross River, Delta, Imo, Taraba, Rivers (all in the South) as well as in the federal capital, the city of Abuja and its neighbouring states (Kogi, Nasarawa).
At the same time, Romanian citizens are informed that there is a danger of bomb attacks or kidnapping of foreign citizens and that the possibilities of intervention and protection by local authorities are reduced.
Romanian citizens are advised to avoid travelling to the country and to avoid the northern part of the country as well as the Niger Delta area, which remains a very high potential risk, with a considerable number of kidnappings, armed attacks on oil installations and acts of piracy against commercial vessels arriving in the area.
Crimes are committed by groups of individuals, in some cases illegally wearing police and military uniforms. Local authorities in charge of security and public order react with difficulty to such situations, as the means at their disposal are minimal.
Since October 2012, the area on the border between Nigeria and Cameroon has been affected by movements of local ethnic groups opposed to the handover of the Bakassi Peninsula to Cameroon, as ruled by the International Court in The Hague 10 years ago.

Most areas in Lagos are fine, particularly during daylight.
FCT Abuja is also considered safe.
