Today Australia announced an "Anti-Scam Centre" similar to the UK model. www.abc.net.au/news/2023-05-15/details-of-new-scam-centre-announced-by-government/102345782I am cynical and don't suggest wasting any of your lifespan watching the video of the announcement. It was 15 minutes of waffle that predictably failed to address the core issues. Of course nowhere was there the one thing that in my opinion would do the most to prevent scams: INCREASE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN A COUNTRY WHO USE LINUX AS THEIR OS. I'D SUGGEST THAT A 10 PERCENT INCREASE WOULD BE ENOUGH. On Linux - Microsoft Tex Nician scams - gone. .vbs malware and scams - gone. .exe malware and scams - gone. At the same time I would make governments allow more Linux usage e.g to submit a tax return. I went 100 percent Linux in late 2019. I kid you not I was nearly scammed two weeks later. A hacker had got into a work colleague's phone and used the group business email format to send a very convincing email to the list. I opened it. Then without thinking I opened up a .vbs file email attatchment. Well, I tried to; .vbs visual basic script would not run on Linux. Then I realised that the email was a scam; an hour later that was confirmed. For safety I did a nuke and pave of my system. My point is that in weeks I was protected from a scam by being on Linux where the scammers' party trick didn't open. It's up to us. Using Linux if at all possible is a start. Due to the strong feelings they engender, please avoid potentially divisive topics such as politics and religion. - JCscambaitingforum.com/thread/97/forum-rules-updated-06-2021

If people followed your advice, there would be a drastic downturn in scamming success.
