In the Romance Baits section, I have a thread about a scammer impersonating Alice Little. But I have a question here. The scammer wants me to send the money via FedEx to a money mule in Texas. Now, I have no intention of sending anything to this guy. Each time payday rolls around, something happens. The first time, my brother stole the money. This last time, I got in a car accident. I’m doing all I can to avoid sending money to the mule, but I’m running out of things to happen to me when payday rolls around.
My daughter suggested sending her play money (dime store holdover from the 80s) to the scammer. I would definitely send from a fake address, but I don’t think it’s worth the postage to send the play money or even cardboard wrapped up in a mile of tape.
How do you handle a scammer that sends you an address expecting you to send cash money?

I think if you sent that play money or cardboard, he would realise you were just messing with him. Not worth it. If you don't want to send anything, maybe you could say that due to Covid restrictions, you cannot send parcels to Texas or certain other locations unless the sender agrees for the package to be opened and searched. Obviously, you would reject this as the money would be discovered as sending money this way is illegal.
Or, and I think I saw this on Pricky's channel, you could just send an empty package that looks like it has been opened. Inside would just be an note that says "Thanks for the money you f***ing idiot XD" or something similar. You would act confused, and suggest that the money was stolen by a worker or something?

I told the scammer that if I sent the package, then I’d have to consent to a search. The scammer then asked if I could send a money order through the post office and give them the tracking number. I could grab a certified mail envelope, put the “Thanks for the cash” note in it, seal it, cut it open, and tape it shut. Then send it. Maybe they’ll go back to the Steam cards. As you know, I’ve got that covered. Hehehe…

Just a thought. What if the scammer thinks the mule is lying and keeping the money for himself. This puts the mule I'm serious danger. You can use my shopping company to send the money. They see it approaching but at the last moment another scammer convinces your character to change the receiver address. Before he can step in and complain the package will be delivered in another state. Scammer is frustrated, mule is safe

I forgot about this!
I was dealing with the fake Facebook lottery scammers and I dragged these bozos hard. These scammers are pretending to be FedEx, and this scammer has requested I use FedEx. I wonder if I should put these scammers in touch with each other?

The bad thing is I might lose control of the bait, so I might not attempt that. The fake FedEx is still active. I just sent them an email to see if it gets bounced and it hasn’t been.

Why not share the baits here? I would love to see your progress with these idiots.

I think as long as you make it seem like your a very confused person, it could work. You could say to one scammer “I have just received emails from FedEx, telling me something like this. So I sent the money to them, correct?”. You would also forward the scammers emails to him.
Just a thought

The actual bait is in Romance Baits. Look for “Fake Alice Little On Hangouts.” The story up to this point is there.

I did a bait a few years ago where I did indeed send cash to the scammer. According to him he had to take a bus several hours from his home to retrieve the money I sent. He was asking for $600 (his poor sister had been in an auto accident and needed surgery) and I sent him $6. He was furious. In my email, I apologized profusely and explained that I was simply a stupid teenage girl who had failed to properly navigate the WU system. I assured him that if he made the journey again I would send him $3,000. He again made the journey and I sent him $3. So in total, I sent the scammer nine American dollars and he ranted in his final email about how everyone at the Western Union office laughed at him and that he was humiliated. Don't know if it was worthwhile at all but it sure was fun!
Removed misplaced quote box, which contained no quotes, only the above Post. Mr P.

Welcome, cousinjack! Please, do post some of your other baits here (any not involving the sending of cash). We warmly welcome Baiters we do not know as their material and bating styles can be really interesting. Please, do read Scambaiting Rules and Ethics, particularly para 9, which covers the matter of sending cash: scambaitingforum.com/thread/764/rules-ethics-scambaiting-updated-2021
