Yesterday I decided to send an email to a very prominent figure in Scamland. One who has been around for a long time and who many of you probably know from the past or have heard about. I am not going to mention his name here, but as a clue I can tell you that he got his formal education at Liverpool University in London  I can also reveal that he does not use the name anymore, that most of you are familiar with. For those of you that know his “old name”, kindly don’t write it in full here on the thread Anyway, I quickly got this very nice reply from .... let’s just call him Dr. Old Star: Dear Mr. John
Thank you so much for your reply, and I must confess to you that this is the will of GOD Almighty that I will execute this Business with you, Really it has been a long time but my Spirit told me to wait for the Right now and now I can see it happening, YES right now I must explain to you how it is going since last week.
As previously reported, my Name is Dr. Old Star, the Chief Accountant working in the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Oil Company, Lagos Zonal Office, Lagos, Nigeria, Really I never know you and you never know me, but please kindly be in the know that a story begins in one day, the only thing I need from you is your full cooperation so that we can get this money in any Bank Account you will convey to me, please, you do not have to fit in any were OK, but furnished me bellow, and fully know very well what I say and send me the Banking details as soon as possible.

And NNPC therefore has sent us a list of creditors, in order of priority for the settlement. Nevertheless, a portion of our $466,000,000-00 Million was provided for the settlement a couple of days ago. Therefore, I decided to source for the person who will reliably help me in obtaining this amount transferred to foreign accounts (preferably out of my Country). In this regard, our source of information was the 2019 via email Guestbook contractors out of my Country. Seven names appeared, but I prayed for the seven names and invariably your name was chosen this is the reason I am still waiting for you to answer me, I am very sorry that the mail I sent to you go through Spam mail but today you have seen it that is good one for me and you.
Truly, we have not met before, but I sincerely believe you would not disappoint me especially when the fund gets into your account I hope to receive from this business. I would also like to assure you that the prevalence of risk is entirely free from both sides, and it will be completed within two weeks. Therefore, I shall be very grateful for you to give me the Bank Account ASAP today. Also as soon as the Lawyer gets all the Documents, I will send them all to you through Attachment for you to see.

I think that I do wise in expecting that I will have to pay tax in UK of the amount that I will receive. This an amount that I had not at all expected to get and I don’t have any reason to complain if I have to let some of the money to the government.
When it comes to the lawyer fee I am glad for your assurance that it will be less than £20,000. I have been for several years in the real estate business and one thing I have learn is never to save money on lawyer’s work. It is better to pay more for a good lawyer and a good legal work rather than paying little for bad legal advice. I trust that you have chosen a good lawyer to work on my case.
Dr. Old Star, please allow me to ask you one more question concerning the legal fee. Is it possible for you to set a maximum for how much I will have to pay in total costs? 07:30 - it's always nice when a "business partner" is working hard in his client's best interest. I (Mr. John) became so happy when I received this email from Dr. Old Star this morning. He has made my day:

I want to let you know that I am so pleased to tell you that I have finally come to an end with the meeting I had with the Lawyer just Yesterday evening. The Name of the Lawyer is BARRISTER JOHNSON, he came to my office at about 6:37PM that Yesterday evening after much pleasantry with him I now make it clear the Work I want him to do for me the Approvals Document I want him to get for us. You know that he will ask me some questions but I was able to put him through in all he asked me.
He just told me that he will get all the Approvals Document for us, and that was the time I asked him how much is his services to us he first say 9,500 British Pound, but I told him that we cannot for any reason pay such amount, but after much augment with him everything come down to 7,500British Pounds, Please before the ALMIGHTY WE SAVE THAT WAS THE AMOUNT THE LAWYER BARRISTER JOHNSON, ask use to pay.
Now let me say this, I have made it clear to myself that I will NEVER, NEVER EVER LIE TO YOU, what I have with me is 4,300British Pounds, and what I need from you is 3,200British Pounds, for his Money to complete. Also I want to let you know that the Lawyer has already, taking your Bank Account for the work to Start This Thursday Morning and I have also gave him 3,300British Pounds, for him to start the work, but he made it very clear to me that we must pay him complete before he will release the Documents for us.

I am very sorry for the late reply. I have been sailing with a friend of mine and we have just come back from our boat trip.
Thank you very much for your emails that I have read several times. Everything is very clear, but to be very honest with you, I don’t like too much that you shall pay part of the legal expenses of a transaction that I am the sole beneficiary of and that I have not done any labour for.
Dr. Old Star, I know it is a very kind gesture you are showing me, but please do not take it badly when I tell you, that I want to pay the £7,500 that the lawyer is charging.
When it comes to the payment, I must admit that I have never heard about RIA Service and World Remit before and I don’t know how they operate. Therefore I would prefer to make the payment with a bank transfer on the account that the lawyer is giving us. Dr. Old Star, can you please ask him about the payment details and then get back to me?

I want to let you know that this is what I am afraid off , you telling me that you will not be around this weekend is my concern and you should know what we have in hands, now the Lawyer have called me again that he is almost getting all the Approvals Documents and I have pleaded with you to please send the Money to the Account before you move, and till now you still never said anything, also telling me that you will Remit the fee by Monday is another issue because when you send the fee it will stay another 3 to 4 days because it will get to the Lawyers Account, this is the Reason I am telling you that if you are honestly want to work with me over this kindly remit the fee before you embark on your Trip.

15:30 - it is not easy to make big payments to Nigeria these days. Mr. John has just sent Dr. Old Star this email:
Dear Dr. Old Star,
Early this morning I made the transfer of £4,200 over the netbanking system to the account you had given me.
Around 2 o’clock this afternoon a lady phoned me from the bank and asked if I had requested a transfer of 4,200 on an account in Nigeria. I said that it was correct, I had done that. She then started to ask me questions about the transfer. I told her that this was a business related transaction and the payment concerned some bills that I had to settle.
She was very friendly and she seems understanding. She told me that she was going to speak to her boss and then I would hear from them again. About 10-15 minutes later she phoned again and said, that unfortunately they could not help me with the transfer. I asked her why. She just said that she could not say more than that. I then asked how if I am not allowed to do what I want with my own money? She said that that she was very sorry that they could not help me with the transfer.
Dr. Old Star, please give me one more day to settle the payment. My plan is to go myself to the bank tomorrow and speak to the branch manager. If he doesn’t want to change his mind, I am going to see if I can make the payment through another bank instead.

Update:Dr. Old Star phoned me several times yesterday as I was trying to make the payment to him. I like it when he phones, talks (a lot) and then some min. later the calls end, because he has used all his credit. That has already happen a few times This morning I am supposed to go to the RIA outlet, which is in an other town about 75 kilometres away. Dr. Old Star has given me 4 names and different instructions how I shall behave when I am at the RIA outlet. I have a feeling that it will not go so well As I am writing this short update this email from Dr. Old Star arrives in my email box: 08:48:

That is true, Dr. Old Star is investing a lot of time and phone credit on me. He is phoning me several times every day and I am running from one payment service to an other, trying to make the payments Dr. Old Star is asking me to do Of course everything has gone wrong so far and I am afraid it will continue to go wrong I have been thinking about putting him through the MoneyGram automated system, but I was wondering if he has tried that before. Does anyone out there know if he has? And do you think he is "too clever" for the MoneyGram automated system? It would be a pity to burn him off at this stage, because my ultimate goal is for him to find a Diplomat, that can come and collect the payment from me. Short update:
I am still in daily contact with Dr. Old Star. We have been trying out different payment options, but nothing has worked out so far. Well ... not until this evening.
Yesterday I asked Dr. Old Star for the first time if his company had any representative in UK who could collect my payment. He said no and that he did not want this payment solution at all because it's too risky. However this morning he had changed his mind on this. He told me that if I was willing to travel to a certain place in London, then an Agent can meet me there and collect my money.
I told Sir Godwin that I am very occupied with one of my property in Plymouth and that it will be difficult for me to travel to London now. He said that there is no way that his agent can come to Plymouth to meet me. I think I will have to work a bit more on this and try to convince Dr. Old Star. Meanwhile I am going to try to put him through the MoneyGram's automated system tomorrow. We'll see how that will work.

I am not sure he will fall for it, but I think it's worth trying. After we had spoken yesterday I did as I told you. I went to a MoneyGram outlet here in Plymouth. I have to say that they were much more friendly than Western Union.
I told the lady who took care of me that I wanted to transfer some money in the safest way possible to Nigeria. I also asked her for the maximum amount that one could transfer. She told me a broken amount that I rounded to £700. I made the payment to Okxxxxxxx Phxxxxx Nwxxxxxx as you told me.
The clerk highly recommended me to use the new automated system that MoneyGram has developed. With this system the receiver has to phone an automated control line in order got get what she called a reference number. She told me that it is very easy.
I have attached the paper slip that MoneyGram gave me to this email. I have had the paper slip in my pocket and therefore the text is not so clear, but I hope you can read it. The MoneyGram automated line where the receiver can get the control number is +1 347 xxx xxxx.
Please tell me as soon as Okxxxxxxx Phxxxxxx Nwxxxxxxx has been able to collect the money. Then I will go back to MoneyGram and make more payments. I will have meeting with my advisers today concerning the renovating project for one of my property, but I will be checking my email from time to time.

Update:In my last post I had made a MoneyGram payment to Dr. Old Star and I wanted him to try out MG's automated system. When I made the "payment" and wrote Dr. Old Star an email concerning the payment, I was very much in a rush because I had to be somewhere at a certain time. In the rush I wrote the receiver name that an other scammer had given me on the payment slip and in the email - and of course Dr. Old Star complained about this I managed to convince him that it was the MG clerk that has made a mistake and Dr. Old Star accepted this explanation. Since then we have spoken several times in order to find a way to make the payment. We have had our fights and sometimes I have hung up on him because he has been coming up again with payment solutions that I already have rejected. Anyway, we are still friends and now he has found a Diplomat in London, that seems to be willing to travel to Plymouth (Yacht Haven) to collect £6,200 from me. The Diplomat has been talking about coming to Plymouth today, but I am not so sure that he will come today. It would be better for me if he comes tomorrow, Saturday.

Update:
The Agent that Old Star's lawyer had found to come and collect my money changed his mind and didn't want to travel to Plymouth. He is in London on holiday with his wife, and it was my impression that he didn't want to leave his wife alone in London for a whole day.
If you don't do what Dr. Old Star wants you to do, he very soon start to come with different accusations against you. He has done this a lot towards me. Each time I have told him, that if he doesn't believe in me, then there is no point in continuing to talk about the deal. He then askes for forgiveness and says that he was stressed.
The last email from Dr. Old Star I received this morning:
Dear Mr. John
I am still asking you what is going on? The Man Barrister Johnson sent to get the Fee is saying that he is not coming that you are not sincere Person and that you are planing to arrest him and for that reason he is not going any where again. there is nothing Barrister Johnson have never done and the Man insisted that he will not meet you any more that you Mr. John are planing evil over him.
He said that if you are very sincere that he is ready to give you an Account where you can Transfer the Money into, that all you needed to do is that since you claim that you have the cash with you all you needed to do is just move to Bank and make Cash deposit to the Account that he will give to you, and if you say NO to that it means you are planing something BAD over everybody, Now I want to ask you, since the Man is saying that he will NOT come again to meet you, are you going to do the Cash Deposit or not?
Also you said that you have a MoneyGram Office close to you and you said that you send 700 Pounds last time and you also claimed that you made mistake on the Name I gave to you, again I corrected the Name for you all you said was that you have collected your Money back, I want to ask you since the Man is saying that he is not going to meet you anymore what Stops you from going back to that Money Gram Office and make the payment again? Real if you still saying NO to this My Idea it means something is rung somewhere with you.
