I've been randomly calling "State Health Medicare" for well over a month now. I would pretend to be a confused elderly man. I would talk about dragons, I would talk about Medicare Part E plans that I also already have that cover pets. I have said some truly strange things and that all was evidently alright. I could give them a few minutes and they would answer my calls again.
I found their breaking point today though, When asked if I had any disabilities during the last conversation I might have mentioned that I like to call Indian men who are pretending to be Medicare and talking to them. The guy responded that I really must have a "Disability with my mind and brain" (yes, he said both).
Now whenever I call someone will pick up and then immediately hang up on me.
This made me think though, it is amazing all of the abuse and time wasting that scammers are willing to go through in their scams. It is truly amazing sometimes what they will put up with... then when they do finally snap or block you (like they should of a long time ago) it seems kinda arbitrary.
Evidently dragons, senile ramblings, Medicare covering pets, purposely getting them off their script to confuse them, asking for the number they are going to transfer you to, asking what their own phone number and listen to why they try to tell you they can't tell you that... is all fine and you can keep calling...
Mention that you like calling them because they are Indian and that's the deal breaker?
NOTE: I very rarely blow my cover, but honestly I thought the joke was funny at the time... guess I won't make that mistake again.
EDIT: For those wondering about my set up. I got a couple Google Voice numbers and a Burner number (which I pay for). I can reset my numbers anytime I want and when I do I can talk to these scammers... just been using my previous Google Voice and Burner number for awhile and they didn't block it after the dozens and dozens of calls previously. Please bait safe everyone and don't use your personal phone number.
