My YouTube channel is devoted to scambaiting via email. But I still have an audio recording of a phone call I made to a fax scammer — this was back in 2005, when sending unsolicited faxes was both illegal and prevalent. Very different from the back-and-forth email exchanges that are my specialty. I was reluctant to post the call — concerned that it wouldn't be interesting enough to subscribers. But finally I decided to publish it anyway. The first hour: no comments, no "Likes"...and I thought, "Well, that was a mistake." Second hour: 20 comments, each of them very positive, complimentary...basically saying, "Really funny. Please do more of these." I don't plan to do more of them, because I don't want to talk to scammers. But I'm glad I took the chance and shared it: youtu.be/B3UBCmedFvE (Your feedback is welcome — anything from "the greatest scambaiting call I've ever heard!" to "The single most boring thing I've ever heard.")

I'd be delighted to post some, but mine tend to go on for weeks (or, in a couple of cases, even months) and to post one would eat up a ton of space here. I mean, a huge amount of space. As a new member, I don't want to exceed your normal boundaries of what is expected.
Would one or more of these options work?
1) Post the entire, huge exchange and not worry about the size?
2) Post a snippet of one — like a vignette that focuses on just one part of the exchange?
3) Post the entire, huge exchange...edited to feature the highlights? An abridged version that tells the whole story but omits as much non-essential stuff as possible (the pleasantries, greetings, etc.)?
Thanks both for your original suggestion and for any additional advice you may offer.

We have baits that go for months, so that's no problem. I suggest looking at how the baits are posted and then posting a section at a time. Edit to take out the parts that you feel are mundane and add nothing of substance to the read. Breaking it up to a post per day so our members can read each portion in a few minutes will work well. If you like, write your first post and PM it to me before posting it and I'll look it over and give you some feedback. You might want to have some Adderall alongside your popcorn, just in case.
(And...Thanks for the encouragement.)

WRT posting completed long baits; I choose to break baits into chapters, for want of a better word, finding a suitable point in the narrative.
As JC said, check out the postings here. Each baiter has a personal style of posting baits. I'm sure you'll be inspired.

That's what I'm thinking of doing. Basically would convert one long-form conversation into a bunch of standalone vignettes. Thanks for the input.

That phone call was funny. For someone who doesn’t like to do phone calls, you’re really good at it.

^^ Thank you for checking out the call, as well as for your positive feedback.
My primary reason for not doing more scammer phone calls is these are people I don't wish to spend time with. With emails, however, I can treat each encounter as a writing exercise — pushing myself to see how ridiculous I can make it without the scammer realizing they're being played. BTW, I do hope you and Veda have patched things up after you caught her messing around with Monte. Teenagers, huh?

Yes. My darling angel Veda and I have patched things up. After all, Monte was just a romance scammer and he got what he deserved. 😆😆

I'm of a similar mind with regard to emailing scammers. For me, scambaiting is more of a narrative exercise, almost a role-playing game of a sort, drawing the scammer into a story. I'm also an aspiring novelist, which helps determines that path.
On the other hand, calling a scammer gives me a chance to interact more directly, and to (much of the time) speak to him as he deserves. If you listen to my calls, you'll notice that Captain Mal doesn't suffer fools gladly. I'm normally a peaceful sort, but being Mal is pleasurable, almost therapeutic.
