I recall a long time ago reading Robert Ludlum's The Osterman Weekend, in which a joke about "CIA" standing not for Central Intelligence Agency but Caught In the Act turned out to be a plot point. Fast forward to yesterday when an email hit one of my Cammy accounts...
The scammer's emails are date-stamped; names have been changed. My comments are in bold.
26 October 2022 Attention Sir/Ma
The central investigation unit agency USA in collaboration with USA government are investigating your account due to the fraud done to you.Kindly get back to us right away with your details and also the name of the scammers and how much they have stole from you for more record and investigation as they will be arrested and brought to book immediately.
I will be waiting for your urgent response immediately to complete our investigation
