The invasion of Ukraine inevitably spawned various scripts.
Here's one scammer who reached out to Captain Mal... and drew back a bloody stump.
The scammer's emails are date-stamped; his name has been changed. My comments are in bold.
20 January 2023

from Ukraine. I have tried to reach you but find it difficult due to internet scarcity here in this town.

He attached an ID card for "Roman Mikhailovitch Tokarevitch", with the first name and the family name (but not the patronymic) rendered in Cyrillic and English script. I realised that the scammer couldn't read Cyrillic (I can, after a fashion), and he'd used the two versions of the first name as his full name.

What those phrases seem to indicate, to me anyway, is that the script seems to have been written for a teenage victim, which prompts Mal's reply.
