About one and a half year ago, I was baiting a scammer that is well known in the scambaiting community. If I say that he has studied at Liverpool University in London, many will know whom I am talking about. If I say that his last name is Starr, even more will know whom I am talking about  However, when I was baiting this scammer he did not call himself Starr anymore, but Dr. Ike Williams. I had good fun talking to him, but unfortunately, I became very busy in my private life and stopped communicating with him. Just before I stopped communicating with Dr. Ike Williams, we had agreed that I should pay him 4,700 pounds in different fees and expenses in connection with the deal. Two weeks ago, I decided to send Dr. Ike Williams an e-mail just to see if he was still using the same e-mail address. In the e-mail I told him that I got a stroke one and a half year ago and was hospitalised for several months. I asked him if the deal that he had offered me was still available. To my pleasant surprise I received an email back from Dr. Ike Williams right away where he confirmed that he had kept my case open all this time, and that we can conclude the transaction if I pay him the fee of 4,700 pounds. Since posting conversations with scammers is not really my cup of tea, I decided to contact bluelady to see if she was interested to take over this scammer; and she was willing to give it a go However, when she contacted the scammer I right away realised, that it was a new guyman and not “Dr. Starr” who was doing the business on the other end. That was of course a bit disapointing, but we – bluelady and I - chose anyway to play along with this new guy:) When I asked about the man I spoke to one and a half year go (Dr. Starr), I was told that he died in September last year of a heart attack. I even spoke to his widow and gave her my sincere condolences. However, I am quite sure that this is all a lie; “Dr. Starr” is most likely still doing the same “business” as he has done for years. Bluelady and I have had a bit of fun with this new scammer, Dr. Ike Williams, already – and also with his female secretary. The bait is still going on and I hope we will be able to frustrate them even more and also have some great fun with them. In the bait I (Mr. Mark) have the role as the original beneficiary of the funds, that Dr. Ike Williams has for me. However, since my health is very poor, I have asked my daughter Lola (bluelady) to take care of the payments to Dr. Ike Williams and of all the practical things in connection with the deal. I think the business – I mean the bait – is in safe hands when Lola is in charge In the following posts some of the calls that Lola has had with the scammers so far and also a few of the e-mails that I have sent to Dr. Ike. |

After the last call I - Mr. Mark - sent Dr. Ike this email:Dear Mr. Ike,
Thank you for your email.
I spoke to my daughter one and a half hour ago and she told me that she has now made a transfer of 4,700 GBP to the account you gave her. I am glad this is done. Now we can focus on the next step, which is to have the funds transferred to us. I trust that you and my daughter will find the best way to do this.
Yes Mr. Ike, it would suite me well to receive you as my guest in July. I am not working any more so I would be more than happy to spend some days or even weeks with you.

Dr. Williams Ike (what a name!), should team up with Kenny, from the "cash in a package" fame 'cause they sound so alike and can tag team seamlessly. If they work in different shifts, they'll have a 24x7 scamming operation and the mugus wouldn't know the difference.
Having said that, he does have a really hard working, female assistant/secretary. Not as good as Judith, Jerald's sister, but close.

I (Mr. Mark) have just phoned Dr. Ike and spoken to both Dr. Ike himself and his secretary (=his wife). Very surprisingly they have not yet seen the money, that my daughter Lola transferred to them reflecting on their bank account However, they have not been at the bank today to see if the money has arrived. They will go to the bank later today. I told them that I am very sure that the money has arrived now |

The 2,000 pounds, that my daughter Lola sent to Mr. Ike, has not arrived on Mr. Ike's bank account yet - and he is worried. He was at his bank again yesterday afternoon, but the bank could not see the money. Late in the afternoon Mr. Ike sent me this e-mail:Dear Mr. Mark
I have gone to the bank and the bank said no money and your daughter should contact her bank and know if they process the transaction.
My bank tired to login in with the transaction number on the payment slip, it says invalid.
You can call me once you receive this email.

Mr IkeI did not reply to the e-mail and early this morning both Dr. Ike and also his secretary have phoned me. I spoke to them both. They want me to tell Lola, that she shall go to the bank and call back the money. Then she shall make a new transfer with Worldremit. I asked Mr. Ike if it is correct, that he has not yet received anything of the 9,700 pounds (4,700+5,000), that I had given my daughter Lola to send to him. Mr. Ike confirmed that this is correct Of course I was very surprised to hear this. It is hard for me to believe. I told Mr. Ike, that in my opinion the bank in Nigeria is sitting on the money. Mr. Ike did not of course not agree I promised Mr. Ike, that I should tell my daughter that the money has not arrived yet.

Yesterday evening I (Mr. Mark) found this short e-mail from Mr. Ike in my e-mail box. After what went on between my daughter, Lola, and Mr. Ike and his secretary Cindy, I would have been more surprised if I did not receive an e-mail from them The e-mail I received just said this: Dear Mr. Mark,

This morning I phoned Mr. Ike. I spoke a bit with him, but he very fast passed the phone over to his secretary Cindy. She then explained to me about everything that happened yesterday. In the bait I try (for now) to be very understanding for both the scammers and my daughter. I also try to give the scammers the impression that I am quite naive and that I have money. Cindy tried very hard to convince me that I secretly should find someone else than Lola to make the payment. Cindy told me, that even Lola - after the funds have been released to me - would later thank them for having given me this advice I told Cindy that I am very afraid to offend my daughter and that I can not do this. Instead I promised to talk to my daughter and try to sort out things and find a solution However, I like the idea of me arranging a payment without Lola's knowledge, but this I think should be later on in the bait. I have been thinking about a plan for how to do this |
