Well, From a theoretical point of view, the situation is: - Godwin and the team of scammers worked hard to make the pyramid... now, in one way or another, everyone is waiting for the "reward" (the money). - Godwin has serious suspicions on our Church/story, but he cannot be sure of anything. The scammers don't understand the concept of scambaiting, so he can't take the logical reasoning to the end to explain WHY. - As long as he still has hopes regarding the sponsorship payment, he will continue to be involved (even if he is NOT 100% convinced that everything is legitimate). Simply, he cannot give up now, after everything he has invested (time, work and money). - I expect him to do the baptism ceremony anyway, because the pressure from the other idiots is great and because this does not involve (practically) any other big expenses or efforts. Everyone around him tells him (probably) "Let's finish once and get the money we deserve!"We'll see tomorrow! Honestly, I think we will see the Baptism done as it should be.  === However, I am extremely sure that he will not "buy from us" the chapter with the shipment of the parcel through TSC... he will certainly search on the Internet and notice the "absence" of any details related to the transport company => he will immediately make the connection with the similar situation from the case of the Holy Church. Of course we can try and of course his frustration will be immense (because he will come to the firm conclusion that he was "played"). For us, in any case, wil be a WIN-WIN situation!  === |

- It is immediately noticeable that Godwin does NOT want to give us his real phone number. Gerry asked the same thing yesterday, for 2 times (in those messages in which "he was drunk and promised to call the scammer the next day") and even then Godwin did not seem to be willing to give his phone number.
- What he wrote in the application for admission to the Church is a fake number (a friend, a relative or someone completely unknown). So, at the moment, we have a tactical and psychological advantage over him by the fact that "we want to talk to him on the phone and he hesitates".
- Mr. "I_am_extremely_smart_and_rich_and_I_can_fool_anyone" has reached the situation where he owes all the idiots who worked at the pyramid... the whole village knows this story and is waiting for the money. Even if Godwin did not give them all the details, all those scammers know very well that "after we finish the pyramid... we will receive some money... from boss Godwin... who is fooling some naive people".
- At this moment, even if he feels something is wrong, he cannot give up because it would mean admitting to the other accomplices that he was a gullible fool. Taking into account his boastfulness, such a thing is impossible to accept! I'm sure we'll see him tomorrow, full of paint and shouting prayers to the Holy Lamb! Poor imbecile!

Is it worth an admin at the church sending the disciples a welcome email, outlining what they can expect to be paid and asking for further contact details (including a phone number for Godwin)?
Maybe one of them will give the right number and you gain the upper hand again by calling Godwin.

Unfortunately (for him), we have reached the situation where a substantial amount of money depends only on his willingness to accept that someone else pour white and yellow paint on his head... his whole strategy, based on the dilemma "I want to I'm talking to you on the phone" was demolished in one day by Jess' initiative today. I think what he is trying to do here is get a "live" number for the church, getting whatsapp numbers is of no use to him. Even if he gets other whatsapp numbers he'll find a myriad of problems with them. It seems to me he wants a landline / fixed line so he can do research on the church (the parts I bolded), to see if it does exist without appearing on the internet.
He's way too suspicious and he'll be a tough nut to crack. It's a shame this scammer is using all of his four brain cells.
I'm hoping you both can save this but if not, it's been a great ride so far! Thank you.

There is a website for the church that the scammers receive (a link to it), it does not have a presence on the internets, that's why Godwin can't find any info about it by Googling.
That is also why the churches name is obfuscated in posts on the forum.

The website is online, they can see it with the direct link but it's not indexed by search engines. That raises suspicion.
If there's one thing I have learnt over the years it is that one a scammer starts doubting your story there's not much we can do to save the bait. He will keep being reluctant to take that next step. Even if we would give him a landline, it wouldn't matter.
Secondly, giving in to too many demands of the scammer puts him in the position of power. He will keep making demands and not accept a pushback. They are very arrogant so we should always try to keep the upper hand. It's like with dogs, once you give in, they will keep walking all over you.

We can't allow these idiots to get to the position where they "feel they have the right to ask for something".
