In medias res (Latin: “in the midst of things”) is the practice of beginning a narrative by opening in the middle of the plot, or at least part-way in. Whatever set things in motion gets filled in later through exposition or flashbacks and the like.
Why am I telling you this? Because this bait began with an email that was definitely in media res.
The scammer's emails are date-stamped and names has been changed. My comments are in bold.
