Scammers often choose names that are unintentionally hilarious, such as the "customs officer" who gave his name as Madeline Smith. But life can sometimes beat that, and when those names show up in a scam email, it can be hard to keep a straight face as you bait...
The scammer's name has been changed; his emails are date-stamped. My comments are in bold.

The money has been deposited in a security vault management company here in Accra at the moment as they want this fund to move out of Africa for security reasons.As I'm the consultant agent that's in charge of the fund.
So my good friend, if you're willing to help and capable of handling the money by moving it out from Ghana to your destination country for profitable investment, kindly update me. Let me Clear you up very well and remember that I did not mention the owner of this money
This money came from one the Ali Bongo top security personnel guid.
As the military coup took place in the presidential palace the security guild was able to arrange his way into the stockroom as that was his duty post where there was a lot of treasury and cash of money in boxes in different denominations of currency.
As he was able to smuggle this money out of Gabon to the security vault management company in Ghana because there's already a crisis in the government house and country as a whole as he moved out of Gabon to avoid any suspicions or questions from the military leader's for the moment.
Now I am looking for a way to get this money out of Ghana from the security department

In response to your email, below is what you are supposed to do.
You will contact the vault where the funds are deposited as family valuable and request them to deliver the safe box to you. The vault where the safe box is deposited didn’t know the contents of the safe box. The safe box was deposited as family valuable.
Before I will provide you with the safekeeping receipt of the safe box at the vault, you will provide me with your full name, home or office address, valid mobile telephone number and any government issued identification of yours. When I have the requested information I will use it to write a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that both of us will sign. After we sign the MOU, I will give you power of attorney to act on my behalf to withdraw the safe box from the vault and ask the vault management to deliver it to your home address.
When you receive the safe box at your home address, I will provide you with a code that you shall use to open the safe box. You will take a 15% commission of the total money in the safe box and the remaining balance will be for investment purposes that you will recommend for me that will be profitable.
I wait for your response.

I don't know how the pandemic affected you, but it damned near broke me. My profession relies on tourism, and for a long time the borders were closed. I couldn't earn a living and I had few other options to survive. I've never resorted to welfare, and I wasn't going to back then, but it was a near-run thing. Now I'm building back from the ground up, and it's a bit of a slog. Even if I wanted to go to Ghana, I'm committed to the contracts I accepted, and I'd have to pay penalties for breaking them.
