I was recently involved in a bait that involved two different shipping companies on the side of the scammer and a lot of noncooperation from the baiter which inevitably ended up having the scammer tell my character to work it out with the courier. So I did and told the idiot I am coming to pick up my parcel so they no longer have to deliver it....I will show up pay the fee in person and load up my package.
Well we went from the scammer wanting 1500.00 to 2000.00 to 1000.00 and the scammer refused to send me a correct invoice and of course wanted me to send the money to someone I have no knowledge of or business with. So I decided I was going to show up pay the fee and pick up my parcel. An exercise in futility of course. But for me it was entertaining in that the scammer slowly saw their payday slip away as they were forced to come up with more and more excuses of why I could not reach them on the phone, why the shipping company was not where the website said it was and the address on the invoice ...etc. This bait had run its course and there was not much more fun I was going to be able to have with the idiot so....
Told the idiot I was coming for my parcel. So let's examine this. It would have been over a 10 hour drive from my made up address to their made up shipping company....
of course my character shows up and there is no shipping company where it is supposed to be...so she tries to call the number and gets no answer. Sends emails to the shipping company and the scammer. Took a little bit to finally get a response. Of course I know it is all bullshit, I am not really in Maryland, but I happened to notice something as I was trying to communicate with these idiots...I got a bit annoyed for real. I mean I told the idiot I was coming right? I can't find the shipping company and I can't reach anyone that is supposed to know what is going on. Then I finally get the idiot on the phone (the shipping company idiot)...<tried to record the audio..did not work out which pissed me off> an he hung up on me....which fueled that anger. And I realized something...I am truly frustrated and angry over a parcel that does not exist at a shipping company that does not exist on a trip I am not on. And that is when it hit me...the human mind is a powerful emotional tool.
Then the excuses came....which being annoyed made a bit more fun.
Now that is from the scam baiters perspective....which put something in context for me....
If we as baiters can actually get these idiots to safari that means a few things...
1) they are 100% emotionally invested in this.
2) they believe us 100% that what we are telling them is real and their payday is right around the corner.
3) they are spending their money, time and resources
Ladies and Gentlemen, the emotional "pain" they experience is 100 times more powerful than the minor annoyance my mind played on me during my "reverse safari". And even though I was the one that "traveled"...my two idiots were emotionally invested, my two idiots thought they were getting paid and my two idiots saw that payday slip away as my character discovered what she did on her fake journey.
Safari = PAIN
