With 2023 drawing to a close, a scammer chooses to contact Captain Mal with an orphan script, and the Lad's an impatient sort...
The scammer's emails are date-stamped; names have been changed. My comments are in bold.

So he wants Mal to travel? We'll see about that. And there's something to point out first.
Mr Kolo
My last name is Reynolds, not Raynold. Please bear that in mind.
But anyway, here's the thing; why do you need my help?
Regards
Malcolm Reynolds
Percy is really pushing the journey to Spain! But his bad spelling of Mal's last name is likely to vex.

Apologies for the sarcasm. It was too tempting!
Mr Kolo
So "I was busy yesterday been Christmas holidays" - what? Christmas holidays? Why didn't someone tell me?
But seriously, dude... you're just not getting it. You're telling me "the reason why we need you to stand as our foreign beneficiary for you to claim the funds in Spain and take control of of the funds" - your father put it there, right? Now he's dead, which means you inherit the money. Why involve me in this?
Something else; who else is involved in this?
Malcolm Reynolds
"poisoned and killed by his trusted friend from Africa"... a change from business associates, I suppose.
27 December
Hello Mr. Malcolm,
Thanks for the email and well noted, yes it was my late father whom made the money and deposited it in the Caixabank Spain and I am the inheritance as well.
Sir before my father dead he told us not to trust anybody from Africa or invest the funds in Africa because he was poisoned and killed by his trusted friend from Africa, that’s is the reason why we seek you to stand as our beneficiary to claim the funds and we invest it in your country as well.
Also the reason why we involved you in this transaction is that we cannot handle it alone and do not want to invest the funds in Africa as my late father advised us before his dead.
Please this is very much clear for you to understand and all I am saying now is please let us proceed ahead to achieve our aim.
I hope to heard from you soon sir.
Thanks and regards.
From Percy.
Mr Kolo
You said it yourself; "I am the inheritance". So you can claim the money in that account. Why would you need a "beneficiary" to claim what's rightly yours?
You also said, "the reason why we involved you in this transaction is that we cannot handle it alone" - why not? And when you say "we", who exactly do you mean?

Good day Mr. Malcolm,
compliments of the season. I am on receipt of your email and I plead for leniency for the miss understanding.
Firstly, For choosing you as the beneficiary to my inheritance is because I got your contact from an emailed marketing company and I supposed that you are well to do person, who will not be greedy with the business and for your status.
Secondly it is only I and my step brother who my father left the money for, and there is no other third party except you.
I didn’t meant to not answer your questions I was only trying to let you know how best we can do it. I look forward to hearing from you after reading this message.
Thanks and regards.
Mr Kolo
First up; I'm not Mr Malcolm, I'm Mr Reynolds. I'm not Hungarian.
Secondly, fine, so it's you and your step-brother. At last!
Thirdly, I didn't ask how you found my contact (and from a marketing company?); I wanted to know why you need a "foreign beneficiary". You haven't explained that.

Good morning Reynolds,
Thanks for your email, sir we need a foreign beneficiary because we want to invest the money in oversea country that’s why we seek your assistance.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks and regards.
Mr Kolo
You really need to learn some basic politeness. You call me Mr Reynolds, not just Reynolds; I am not your lackey.
It sounds like you need an investment manager, not a beneficiary, unless you think you're about to die.
