Scambaiting frequently leads the baiter into an alternate reality.
In this reality, orphans (almost always young men) flee African war zones to take refuge in Ghana, taking great wealth with them in cash and gold and precious stones.
In this reality, the Ghanaian Armed Forces (which in reality number about 7,000 all ranks, mainly in the Army) have more Generals than NATO, and many of them are happy to take time off from their military duties to help said orphans find “beneficiaries”, those individuals blessed (or cursed) by fate to be trusted with the worldly goods of said orphans. Finally I was able to get through and talk to them…
The second call was answered by someone else, who proved to be a big fool who had no idea how to think outside the box, who mixed up customs with costs, kept asking pointless questions, and who’d forgotten his military rank at the beginning, but did the old “you are talking to a general” when Mal reamed him out!
