Some weeks ago dr. Mark W. from Nigeria contacted me. He told me that he has $224,5M ready to transfer on my bank account. All I had to do was to transfer him $19,000 for legal and other fees. I immediately accepted to pay the fee, because what is $19,000 compared to the $224,5M that I will receive? But so far everything has not been so easy. Firstly, I do not have $19,000 available, but only $12,000. Secondly I have always run into some problems every time I have made an attempt to make a partly payment of the money. This has been very frustrating and stressful for both dr. Mark and myself To make a long story short, dr. Mark and I have finally agreed on a payment solution. Since I have not been feeling well for the last couple of weeks, I have asked the sister at my church, that normally takes care of sending supply to missionaries and orphanages overseas, so send a package to dr. Mark’s secritary: Mr. Emmxxxxl Adxxxxx xxxxxxxxx Alixxxxxx- Lagos. Nigeria The package will contain these items: - One MacBook Pro - One Iphone 12 - A gold Rolex watch - 50 Adidas t-shirts + 50 Adidas sport shoes (size 38-45) (this is actually a surprise) - $12,000 in cash, hidden in a chocolate box Dr. Mark has been very reluctant to accept to receive the money in a package and in fact he has not yet fully accepted this payment method. He has instead instructed me to ask the sister at the church to go to a supermarket and make the payment with Coinme. I have accepted to tell the sister this, but I have also “warned” him that this sister is a bit elderly and conservative, and that she is used to send money hidden among some items in a package and it has always been successful. My suggestion is, that the sister takes matters in own hands and hide the $12,000 in a chocolate box and send it with the package just as she normally does. The courier company that the church is using knows how to take proper care of valuable packages that also contain a good sum of cash. This is all done without any cost for the receiver. The sender pays for everything. In this my very first attempt to send a scammer on a safari I have been telling him that I live in California. The name I have been using is Mr. John (“Scammer N Mugu” spelled backwards). I hope that Birlic and Linolin can play the role of the sister at the church and the transport company

Yes, of course, Linoline and I will be happy to help an innocent soul get what it deserves. Give me (via PM) your character's email address so we can effectively coordinate... we'll need some details so we can prepare the package.
===
Mark is a very common name, so we can use it here on the forum too... it will take an alter-ego for your character, a name we can write here without fear that the scammer will search Google and find the topic. What do you think of the name John?

|
Post by Birlic on Feb 7, 2021 23:25:53 GMT
So, to avoid unpleasant surprises related to the Google search engine:
- Your character will be John and that's it... we're not writing anything else here. - The scammer will be Mark... no other name in the forum posts. The inventory list is good, but I would decrease the number of pairs of sports shoes. I would suggest pretending that John lives in San Diego... the package will leave from there -> Los Angeles -> New York -> Paris -> Madrid -> Casablanca -> Dakar -> Accra -> Cotonou.
PS: I will also edit the name of the topic accordingly, to reflect the "reality".

Monday
So, if Sister Dave ( Linoline) is available for this story, then: - the character John (Macs) will hand over the package and the money to Sister Dave and ask her to help him with the delivery... the church always sends parcels to Africa (charity) and works with a company that has always been extremely efficient... all the costs (shipping, handling, customs, etc.) are already paid, so the Receiver (our scammer) has no additional cost. - Sister Dave calls the local TSC representative at the church and he takes over the package. Then, our scammer will be informed that the package has arrived in the custody of TSC and that it will be sent to the destination. - We will use only the local time Nigeria, to avoid any confusion.

Yes, I'm available! Like Birlic suggested, maybe only 2 pairs of shoes. I have a picture of a parcel photoshopped, where I can easily change the details of the sender and receiver, just in case we need to send him a picture to persuade him to travel. This box isn't big enough for 50 pairs of shoes. The decision is yours of course, but I don't have the time right now to photoshop larger parcels.

2 pair of shoes is absolutely fine with me. If you think it is best, we can even drop the shoes.
Birlic, your story is correct, but let me add this:
- Since I (John) is not feeling well, Sister Dave is coming to my house to pick up the items and the money. I will also give her the instructions Dr. Mark gave me about sending the money with Coinme, which she of course later will ignore because she has never tried this before and it seems too complicated for her.
- Both Dr. Mark and I are fully aware of, that this transaction has nothing to do with church or charity work. But in order not to confuse Sister Dave and others, Dr. Mark and I have agreed to “play” that the gift is for church-work.
- Yes, let us use local Nigerian time, but to avoid any suspicions it would of course be better to send the package this evening (which is Monday morning in California).

Perfect!
- So, we have a tracking number, we have THE INVOICE. - Will be today, in the late evening? - TSC server will confirm the registration of the package and the story can begin. ===

Of course, John is not feeling very well (maybe he has a winter flu?), so he asked Sister Dave to come to him and pick up the package. Sister Dave will be in charge of delivery today.

our customer is becoming impatient:
19:43:
I need to hear from you. what is the update
I have replied to him:
Dear Dr. Mark,
I did not feel so well this morning and I have spent most of the day in bed.
A couple of hours ago the sister came to my house to pick up the money and the items. I gave her the instructions that you gave me yesterday concerning the money. I hope that she will find out how to do it, because she is a bit elderly and does not know much about all these new ways to make payments.
I will update you as soon as I know anything more.
Best regards,
Mr. John

20.54 - From the TSC servers to our scammer: 22.35 - Another good news: Of course, Mark is not happy with this arrangement, because he hopes for a quick payment... we hope that his feelings will be better when he "sees" that the package is approaching him. The "Route" will be: San Diego -> Los Angeles -> New York -> Paris -> Madrid -> Casablanca -> Dakar -> Accra -> Cotonou.
===
23.55 - One hour later, the parcel is in LA airport: ===
We need to give him confidence that the things are moving fast and in the "right" direction ... starting tomorrow, our manager Claude will contact him.

Dr. Mark is frustrated and confused. Therefore I (Mr. John) have just sent him this email of comfort and understanding:
09:57:
Dear dr. Mark,
I got very sad when I read your email and it really has disturbed me a lot.
I do not have a printer at home, but before Sister Dav came to my house to pick up the items and the money, I wrote down on a piece of paper the instructions you had given me on how to make the payment by using Coinme.
When I received a copy of the email Sister Dav sent you and found out that she had sent the money together with the parcels, I got very surprised, upset and even angry. She had not asked me on beforehand if I was okay with this.
I can also see from her email that she has also sent 50 t-shirts to you. This I did not know anything about either. But this is just the way she is. She always wants to do things well and fast. Serving others is her life. Therefore I have restrain myself to be angry at her because of what she did with the money. She has told me in the past that she mostly send money to Africa this way, and it has always been successful. I refuse to believe anything else, than that it will also be successful this time.
Dr. Mark, I fully understand that you got disappointed when you got her email. I got very disappointed myself. On the other hand I think we do best in focusing on the reality, that the parcels and the money now are on their way over to you and that it is much more likely that everything will end well than that it will not.
Best regards, Mr. John

Even if he is upset, Mark has nothing to do but accept the situation ... the package is already on its way to Africa and our scammer will be forced to comply with the requests.

John will obviously ignore the message until the afternoon (because he's ill, in his bed), when the package arrives in Casablanca and it is too late to be recalled. If the idiot refuses to comply, then we will proceed for the "temporary freezing" of the package and we will explain the abandonment procedure: - if the package is not delivered in 14 days, then the Sender must pay the repatriation costs (which will be high, so sister Dave will refuse) - sister Dave will order the shipping company to donate the contents of the package to a local orphanage in Casablanca. I'm sure poor dr. Mark will be delighted.

22:15 I have just had a long phone conversation with Dr. Mark. I played very sad and worried about how all this will end. I also told him that I am disappointed that Sister Dav sent the money together with the items without even asking and the money has been shipped. He knew the current location of the parcels and he was even doing some calculations on when the package most likely will arrive in Nigeria. On the negative side at the moment is that he is kinda refusing to pick up the package when it arrives because it contains money. He told me that it is better if the package is sent back to US and that I then make a normal bank transfer. I told him that all this is giving me a lot of headache and stress, and that I will drop the deal if the package comes back to US. I can not take more of this stress. It also was my impression that it will take very long till Dr. Mark fully can trust Sister Dav after what she has done

The next move is for John to tell Mark (by email) that he spoke to Sister Dave, who doesn't understand why Mark is worried ... because, "What's the problem? We've been sending parcels to Africa for years and we've always had money hidden inside. No one ever checks the parcels sent by the church... blah, blah, blah."

Mark tries to dictate the rules of the game, but Claude is inflexible.

Sorry, sorry Birlic ... I will try to remember next time. Dr. Mark has not yet given up pushing. He just sent me this short email: 10:13: Ask her (Sister Dav) to return it back. if she does not see anything wrong in it. I cannot receive it.
I sent right away this reply to Dr. Mark: Dear Dr. Mark, I left the handeling of the items and the money in the hands of Sister Dav. I have never tried to send a package overseas before and I don’t know if it is possible or not to call back the package before it has even arrived. As you know Dr. Mark, we have been talking about all this for some weeks now and as you know I have tried with both my own bank and with an other American bank to make the payment as you have instructed. It has never worked. I also asked my oldest daughter to make the payment for me, but she refused as you know. I feel very stressed, frustrated and confused at the moment. I fully trust you and I also fully trust Sister Dav. If you can not find a solution and the package is sent back to me, then I will have no other option than to give up on this deal. Not because I want it, but because my health cannot take all this anymore. I still trust that you, Dav and the shipping company will find a solution together. Best regards, Mr. John ======= Dr. Mark replies to my email: 11:42: I will give up on this before you do. since you cannot follow my directivesI don't think I will contact him again today, because I will not manage to make him happy anyway

11.16 - Mark to Claude: 12.00 - Claude: ===
These are the usual whining in the case of our scammers. He will not give up the package and the money, especially if there is a "risk" that everything will fall into the hands of others. He also tries to take over the game and dictate the rules, which will not happen. - John is sad and upset, but he has nothing to do. He has no any power now, and this gives him the status of a "good cop." He can be on the side of the scammer and keep the appearance of a good and naive man (but who does not control the situation). - Sister Dave has a lot of work to do and she doesn't stay all day long to answer the idiot's messages. However, she will not agree to spend the church's money to recall the package back home to the United States.
The idiot will finally understand that he can't order anything and that John doesn't have the real power to recall the package back. So there is a risk that Mark will lose everything and that someone else will get their hands on the money. I don't think he will accept that and I hope he will comply with the "requirements" of the shipping company.
