This scam began as nothing out of the ordinary, but took an odd turn. I may need a co-baiter at some point, if anyone's interested.
I've amended the scammer's name just slightly.

Compliment,
Dear Malcolm Reynolds,I am Dr. Josef Bakery. I Have a Business Proposal of $5.3 million For You. I am aware of the unsafe nature of the internet, and was compelled to use this medium due to the nature of this project.
I have access to every vital information that can be used to transfer this huge amount of money, which may culminate into the investment of the said funds into your company or any lucrative venture in your country.
If you will like to assist me as a partner then indicate your interest, after which we shall both discuss the modalities and the sharing percentage.
Upon receipt of your reply on your expression of Interest, I will give you full details on how the business will be executed.
I am open for negotiation, you should forward your reply so that we can touch base.
Thanks for your anticipated cooperation.
Note: you might receive this message in your inbox or spam or junk folder, depending on your web host or server network.
Regards,
Dr. Josef Bakery.
I kept my reply brief.
I don't have a company and I've never invested. I think you should know that, just in case you want to rethink this proposal.

I received your message and I understood it well, we can work together hence you will be sincere with me, and when the fund will be transferred to your account, you will wait for my arrival before sharing, and you can direct me into a better and lucrative investment which I will open in your name for a better future.
I will send you the full details once I hear from you again.
I will send you the full details once I hear from you again.
I don't think he read my reply that closely.
You wrote, "I received your message and I understood it well" and then went on to say, "you can direct me into a better and lucrative investment." I wonder how you could say that you understood me well, given that I told you, "I've never done investment."
His response was both surprising and arrogant.

I received your response, now listen to me, I want you to look for a better person who can handle this transaction on your behalf.
Make it fast and get back to me.
Make it fast and get back to me.
Where to take this? First, buy some time.
I can try that, within the limitations of my work/life balance, plus geography. Alice Springs ain't Business Savvy Central, just so you know.
