Hi I'm Dev. I am not really a scambaiter yet though I have tried it a couple times. I enjoy a lot of scambaiting content and got this link from Scambait Central. I would love to do it more but I need to learn how to protect my identity and create fake credentials for myself. This is the main reason i'm here.

welcome to the club! Best start is to bait safe. Make a new emailaddress, that's not linked to your private information, think of a character you like to play and you're set to go. Find yourself an email you like to answer to ( click). Your initial response can be as simle as "I'm interested, please tell me more" and see what responses you'll get. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I have for quite some time been listening to Mr. Pricky’s live steams and YouTube videos. They are for the most part a very good match to my sence of humour. Over the last years I have also done quite a lot of phone bating with scammers in West Africa and it has been really fun. Some scammers I have had as “friends” for about a year. Although I have felt that a few of my “friends” have been ready for a safari, I have till now never initiated this. But this year I want to try it out at least once As a first step towards this I have today done 3 things: I have got myself a formal scammer name, which is [deleted], I have created an scambaiting e-mail account and I have become a member of this forum What do you all think about the name I have chosen? Is it too much of a clue to give to my future “friends”?

Welcome here!
The name didn't stand out to me immediately until you asked it it was too much of a clue. Trial and error I guess, but you might want to delete the name from here or edit it a bit, because when your new 'friends' start googling they might find this post and know what's going on.
It's great fun to send a scammer on a safari. Do you have a plan in mind?

Thank you for the advice. I have deleted my baiting name from my previous post, but I have already started to use the name in some e-mails that I have sent to scammers. I find it quite amusing to receive e-mails back from them where they address me: Dear Mr. "Mugu N' Scammer", spelled backwards.
I have not figured out yet how I shall carry out my first safari. I guess I just need to catch what I feel could be a good occation. I believe it must be a lot harder to arrange a safari if you are the only one the scammer is communicating with. It makes the whole things more realisic for the scammers if there are two or more scambait actors involved. Do you have any experiences in sending a scammer on safari where you are the only one he is communicating with? Which kind of scammers or which situations do you think have the highest probability to succede when it comes to send a scammer on a safari?
One more question. Today a scammer sent me the full address and account number of a lady in USA, where he want me to send the scammer fee, that he wants to steal from me. What do you think is the best way to deal with such information?

I've been scambaiting informally for about 2 years now. I only recently started recording my calls; nothing special removed link - JC I usually use my personal youtube account to comment on scambaiting youtube channels removed name, please do not post personal information - JC although I am thinking of changing it as to avoid doxxing myself.
I mostly prefer facebook messenger scambaiting as my voice isn't really radio friendly. I wanna take mistress for providing me a link to this forum.

Welcome to SF, mrremmacs! Name your baiting character as you please as it's yours. What I've found over the years is that a plain, common name works best for me. My main character is named Brad Johnson and since my character doesn't claim to be a former football star, it's quite hard for a scammer to find much about him. If I google mrremmacs, I get: www.scammer.info/d/20826-wwweeeeefffffuuunnndddd-8442846148/8Who knows if the scammer will google just that portion of your name, but why take the chance is my thinking. I've been found before by scammers because I had a unique name, or I left my baiting email, in my bait and then posted it by accident. Which type of scammer is more likely to safari? Any of them can, given the right circumstances, but I would say that Gold scammers and Wash-Wash scammers are more prone to doing so. If you can bait as a romance victim, there are good odds you can get them moving, too. Look in the romance baiting section for ideas on how to make it happen! The key to getting a scammer to travel is to make the reward for him/her doing so very high. There's not much of a chance for one to safari for 500 USD. Not going to happen. The stakes should be north of 10k USD and preferably more, but your story, and the dollar amount must make sense. If you want to find others to co-bait with you, look around the site and make some new friends! Start a thread in the Baiting forum about what you'd like to do and your ideas for getting a bait started.

So far i am more a fan rather then a baiter/pranker myself. I should start my first calls as a guest in Ismail Ali's stream in october last year, but due to some internet problems at Ismail's place, i did not happen yet.
I came into this pure by chance, and frankly i cant remember how exactly. The first time was with a Scambait Central stream by Mr. Pricky about 3 years ago. It took my a year and a half to follow him on youtube and many others. The second i stumbled upon was Hoax Hotel's video channel. Soon followed by DVR, Skelettonsyskey, Ismail Ali, Mistress Scambait, IRL Rosie, Deyo, Dr. Fell, Joe Scambait, Jim Browning, Blast Orr, Little Peace, Malcolm Merlyn, Nikki vs Scvammers and some more.
Maybe i give it a try as a guest caller on someone's stream.
In the past i have been scammed myself on the dutch market site Marktplaats, a dutch kind of Ebay / Craigslist. The first time i could figure out the scammer by the IP adres. The second time the site has done things to protect the users but they were to stupid to see it helped scammers most, so i was not able to retrieve the IP adres on this one so i lost about 480 euro's which is about 510 US Dollar.
Oh this, i dont know if i will write a lot here, i am not much of a forum writer anymore. This due the development of arthrosis, mainly in my hands with make small, repeated movements hard to do. Such as typing on a keyboard, playing a piano or guitar. Which has become unemployed ever since. This made me notorious for my many very weird typo's as my hands cant follow my thinking anymore. A message like this took me an hour to write and find as much typo's as i could. (which is about every other word...) Missing fonts and fonts written the rwong wya arodn are the most common results which take away the fun of writing.

Welcome jpsholland Nice to see a fellow Dutch here. I'm sorry to hear that you've been a scam victim. I know the site, there are plenty scammers there and the staff does't do much about it. Sorry about your physical conditions. Sucks to have to deal with that. If you enjoy phone baiting, then like JustCold said, you could try that. If not, you're welcome to read. We have a like button, so you can participate with just a click Macs in my experience it takes time to get a scammer firmly hooked before you send him on a safari. It's not likely that you're only communicating with one a few days and you can persuade them. I do a lot of romance baiting and I take my time with them, building a relationship before I try to get them on the road. They need to be convinced that the victim is really attached, rich and willing to send them money. I managed to send scammers on a trip by baiting them alone, but most of the time I cooperate. The diversity of characters involved creates a parallel world for the scammers. Read some baits, try to get a scammer firmly hooked and if you want help just ask.

Thank you JustCold and Linoline for your good advice and support. I have just changed my profile name on the forum. Yes, I realize that it most likely will take some time to warm a scammer up for a safari. I have over the last years had several phone conversations with scammers. It is my impression, that saying the right thing in the right way is one of the best ways to build up trust. Yesterday I e-mailed a "business-partner" in West Africa concerning a "deal". We had a good phone conversation yesterday evening and now he has already given me the name and account number of a person in USA to whome I shall transfer the obligatory fee of about USD 3000. I have written back to my "business partner" this morning and told him, that I myself live in a town about 2 and an half hours drive from where the receiver of the money lives. In order to keep the transfer highly confidential and discreet I have asked if the receiver can travel to my town to pick up the money in cash instead of me making a banktransfer. Of course I am willing to pay him good money ekstra for this service My "business partner" has asked me to phone him so we can discuss this more in details. That is what I am going to do later today

Good luck! Just remember that scammers lie and lie and lie about what they claim they will do. Make sure you have proof of the scammer going on safari.

@macs please keep in mind that the owner of that account is very likely a money mule, that makes him or her an innocent third party. It is possible that your scammer will convince them to travel and I wouldn't encourage that. You can offer to bring the money to the mule, have a reasonable timeframe of silence while 'traveling' and then tell him that just in time before you left you received his message that you should go to <different city> to meet with <his other business partner with obvious african name> to give him the money at the local starbucks, where you both had coffee and donuts and he assured you that everything was fine now. Just a suggestion of course, but don't pretend that the mule received your money. The scammer will get angry with them.

Hello !
Been scambaiting for well over 10 years now. I first got started with tech support scammers and trying my hand at other types of scammers from time to time. Mainly I have it set up for them to call me (drop phones are a thing). The family loves it when things get absurd and the scammer falls for it.
One particular time my poor brother had to put forth a superhuman effort not to laugh out loud as I kept a tech support scammer going for 90 minutes without even getting to the point of downloading Teamviewer. My personal record is keeping a call center line tied up for 8 hours (over several calls).
I am from the Midwestern USA and speak a smattering of a few languages as well as being able to do a few distinctly different voices.
I hope to have fun and learn more by driving scammers nuts and wasting their time.
Nehru Patel (If they can have a fake "American" name, I can have a fake "Indian" name !)

Strangely enough, I have not recorded in years since my old magnetic microphone died. I don't have an easy way to record the current ones, but will give it a lot of thought as I start to "retool" by scambaiting.
I do have a few skills, but in a place like this they are nothing special. I used to have VMs on a VPN for the scammers with a few tricks to make their life much harder (including "stalling" the VM to make them think it is really bad and runs slow to buy time to track them down). Knowing how to answer the phone and be "foreign" helps too.
I'm mainly here to learn.

You do phonebaiting, have tech knowledge and can convince the scammers, souns like plenty skills to me. Don't sell yourself short. I don't do phone baiting, so I don't know how to record calls, maybe you can get some help on that in the phonebaiting part of the forum.

Skype and Mp3 Recorder are an easy way to record calls. They can then be uploaded to Soundcloud.
