My online name is Old Nick and I’m from Utah, USA. I have a scambaiting page on a Facebook called The Scammer Slayer, as well as a gaming page, an art page, and a heavy metal page. I mostly deal with romance scammers that find me on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, and my baits are mainly on DMs. I have also dragged scammers pretending to work for Publishers Clearing House, demanding a fee of $1500 to send me a sum of $1M, only for me to send them blurry and obscured pictures of the code on the card, which is always empty. It’s a lot of fun. Currently, I’m dealing with a romance scammer that is still hanging on, no matter what I do. Each time I think I’ve taken this one to the fridge, they always come back.
I have alternate profiles for Google Hangout, AOL, and I also use Flyp, which provides a second phone number, and goes well with my scambaiting. I do have Skype, as well. I’m a regular subscriber of YouTube channels such as ScamBait Central, <deleted>, and <deleted>, who I learned about Grabify from, and actually lives in my state. I never met him, though. With each scammer, I’m honing my craft and learning how they operate and the best ways to bait them.
I’m glad to be here.

Hi. Big fan of Mr.P and tune in to his live streams whenever possible (I probably should have used my YT name here). I dabbled with scambaiting some years ago and it was a lot of fun.
It's amazing how far Mr.P and associates have taken it - my fave bit is the automated voice thing where they choose English and get Spanish. Heard it loads of times but it still makes me piss myself each time. "Cuatro...Uno...Nueve..."
Thanks for all the entertainment you have provided Mr.P, not to mention diverting the attention of these scumbags from innocent people.

Welcome to SA, purplewaffle! The automated system is freakin' fantastic and I was lucky enough to be one of the first clerks to use it.

Hi, I have been baiting since 2006, Romance Scammers mostly. The game hasnt changed at all and still amazes me that they use the SAME script everytime! I had a group of advanced baiters that worked hard to help victims get closure. We would pick a target and use a code word in the conversation such as Pickle and would have to use it as many times as possible.
I created an alter ego of an attorney and even had to "kill off" one of my victims in a horrid car accident, we collect pictures of a crashed car and post accident hospital photos. The scammer didnt believe a word and wanted to talk to his "baby", however when I told him that he inherited her home, bank account etc he just had to go to the embassy. He was so excited but knew he couldn't collect it, he had someone order death threats on my character.
Ive been "retired" from baiting for a while but find that the dating sites, Instagram and Facebook has them finding me and unfortunately .. yup back to tormenting them! BUAHAHAHAHA.
Formerly from New Jersey now a Florida Resident .....
Check out Butch Driveshaft of Anus Laptops he has some great scams!

Good to see you here IRS. It was finding you one dark night during a quiet spell in the lambing shed that started me on this exploration of scambaiting.

I'm Inspector Gadget. I've been out of the loop for sometime now. With my sister-in-law damn nearly being scammed out of a serious amount of money I'm reminded of why I baited and that it's about time to get back into it.

Hello from The City By The Bay.
OK, I got around to signing up for an account and am wading deeper into the boggy swamp of scambaiting. It's nice to be here.
I have long had a knowledge of scams via the internet or over the phone and so forth, but since not replying and being skeptical are the best defense against scams, I never really thought about taking the battle to the scammers. No one I know has ever fallen for a scam.
Circa 2000, I stumbled upon <name of monetised Forum removed> and was amused to see people baiting scammers. Inspired, I replied to a scam. Playing upon the scammer's faith, I started off my response in a religious tone. After three weeks of high and holy praises of God's good grace, I lost interest because I didn't know what direction I should take the scambait.
In 2004, I received my first known spoofed call. This gave me a curiosity about the technical means by which scamming is accomplished. I drew an immediate conclusion that some scams are sophisticated operations that span the continents.
In 2007, the very moment after reading about a company called Jefferson Financial and its scam, the phone rang. Guess who? Jefferson Financial had just been fined heavily by the FTC, and yet it was still phoning people and running its scam. A similar occurrence then happened with National Auto Warranty Renewal.
As scams have continued, increased and morphed, my focus then turned to making sure my parents didn't get scammed. This made me stay up to date with the different types and variants of scams.
In Nov. 2018 I discovered scambaiting on YouTube: Deeveeaar and Skeleton Syskey. Naturally, this has led me to the others, some of whom are serious about their craft versus others who are monetarily driven.
I find myself getting deeper into scambaiting as I am angered knowing that people in the USA are money laundering for scammers abroad. Hearing stories of people being fleeced bothers me greatly. Knowing that the authorities at home (some) and abroad (most) do not take scamming seriously bugs me as well.
So I have some knowledge and some motivation. And questionable messages continue to arrive via email or on the phone. The problem of scamming is never far away, even though I can simply ignore most attempts. I hope to make some time, learn the craft and its rules, and become involved more deeply but at a relaxed pace.
