10.48 - It looks like dear Reverend Samuel will do what we all hope he does... travel to Ghana to pursue a non-existent package. LOL!

My dear Holy and Blessed Chancellor, Rev. Father Eduard,

I most honorably thank your for your words of commendations and admonishments over our little effort to make sure that the new parish strives. I am also most grateful on your divine suggestion and advise to me on how to improve my work as a Reverend, I have noted them, and I shall put it to work practically and with prayers to enable us grow from strength to strength in our new ministry (parish). I can assure you Father Eduard, that you can count on me and my apostles as part of the formidable Team you will leave behind that will continue to carry on the sacred duty of saving people's souls as you desires.

Please my Blessed Father Eduard, I want to also apologize to you for all the discrepancies and controversies that has played out on the issue of delivery and takeover of the Courtesy Package and Sponsorship money sent to our new parish via Shipping Agency by Sister Dave. Please be informed of the truth, I did NOT REFUSE to receive the package, rather, the Shipping company ended the delivery arrangement in a different African country (Ghana) far away from my country Nigeria, and the condition we were given to come over to the said country to further take the delivery is too hard for us to bear. And again, I did not suggest the donation of the items to local charity, rather she (sister Dave) mentioned that, and I concur. But however, this morning, I have been presently renegotiating with the Receiver I used his name to see if he can make a trip to the country (Ghana) to take the final delivery/receipt of the package. I will inform Sister Dave about this new development.

We are aware of brother Gerry's health conditions and we have been praying for him from here as well. We commit his health in the glorious hand of Almighty God for perfect healing in no distant time. Glory to the Holy Lamb, Halleluiah!!.

Please tell me, how many apostles do you have right now and how many parishioners. How do you plan to gather more parishioners for your church? These are important things to plan with the help of your current apostles. For a healthy church, growth in number is essential.

It seems that the day of May 18 was dedicated to a journey that Samuel tried to keep secret.

Last night he sent a very sad message to sister Dave, in which she recounts all her adventures in trying to enter Ghana. I'll let Linoline tell the story.
- In fact, we have a fairly long time (30 hours) in which Samuel was completely silent (unusual for him): May 17 (12:24) to May 19 (19:08).
- It is very possible that he tried to go to Ghana without saying anything... we will try to get clear evidence (copies of the transport tickets), claiming that we want to reimburse his expenses.
- At the same time, it is very possible that he is lying, like all the scammers... we will try to find out the truth.

It was quite unfortunate that you never heard from me since yesterday, I and the receiver decided to embark on a deadly mission through the "valley of shadow of death" along the Nigeria-Ghana routh into the Ghana border territory. Our parish is under control. I will answer all you asked tomorrow, please I only decided to update you now to clear your worries, I am so exhausted and almost passing out, so I need to get some sleep, bear with me please.

I did some research and read that indeed the border is closed, but I'm sure that's nothing some bribes can't fix and this is information that he easily could've found himself of course. So, like Birlic said, there's a solid chance that he's lying to us. Let's ask for some proof.

Didn't they also mention other places that were possible for a pickup? They offered to bring it to a large city in the North of Nigeria. I think that will be better because you don't have to leave the country.
You are asking me again to send the parcel back to our church while I have told you repeatedly that it is a big insult to us to request that. I don't want you to mention it ever again. If you choose to reject the parcel we will donate it to an orphanage or a school, as the elders requested and we will assume that your parish has means to fund itself.
I am waiting for the copies of the travel receipts and a picture of the restored monument of faith.

If he had told us he intended to leave, then we would certainly have asked for some "evidence." So, he tried to do everything in secret (hoping to get his hands on the money and then disappear). Thanks for your email. The decision to embark on the journey came very late Monday night, and we left as early as 5am next morning, so I hadn't any time to email you. I have been very ill since I returned yesterday night, I suffered a severe cold due to my body being exposed to cold conditions all through the night we spent in those bush paths along the border region. The ticket you asked, we actually did not travel in a commercial Bus/Taxi, a friend of the Receiver had to take us in his car, we only fueled his tank To and Fro, we only paid some money to an Immigration Officer who was to take us through, but no way in.

It has been my wish and desire to recover this package from the so called shipping agents, but as you can see, my efforts has been futile. It saddens my heart when you say "If I choose to reject the parcel" how can I reject a parcel that is meant to support our new parish? I have no reason to take blame of the incompetence of a so called shipping company that never fulfilled their contractual obligation, and you never reprimanded them at any time, rather you chose to buy what ever baseless stories they tell you and instead you compel me to risk my life in their place. This is certainly an unfair judgment. This trip is my last and final effort towards this delivery, I will never further endanger my life or any one else's' in this quest. Am sorry. I even demanded the office address and phone number of the TSC shipping Ltd in Ghana so that a Custom officer friend of the receiver who works in Ghana could actually verify the package safety status before we arrive Ghana, but they refused to give me any of those.

I have already re-nailed the Monument properly since Monday, there is no problem with it any more. My Apostle are "Five" in number, we have very few parishioners that we can rely on. I have to put more efforts in my work to win more souls, some of the evangelism materials in the package would have helped us to make more progress, but all is to no avail now. My Apostles are not happy either with the turn of the event on the failed delivery, their hopes were high on the gifts. Like I told you before, the rent for the compound where the monument was built is expired, and we need to renew the rent otherwise the owner may throw us out any moment, we do not have any more financial strength any more to carry on. I am only human, and I can not squeeze water out of stone at this juncture. Please help talk to the elders on this matter.

I'm sorry to hear about your health condition. I do believe that with proper planning things might have been different and you would have received the parcel already.
Earlier today I contacted mr. Claude to tell him about your trip and about the promise to reimburse your expenses. He told me that the local manager gave you the address of the warehouse in a Northern city but they said they could deliver to you in the capital, yet you didn't tell them what day you wanted this delivery to take place. Let me be so free to ask you this. If they offered a delivery in the capital, which is in the south of the country, wouldn't they perhaps have agreed if you requested the delivery at the border and these inconveniences could've been avoided.
Mr. Claude told me that you would be reimbursed for your expenses from your trip if you manage to send some proof of the expenses. A ticket for a bus or taxi, a ticket for gas, some documents you received when crossing the border or some restaurant receipts from when you bought food during your trip. He ensured me that if you'd send them to him, he'd take care of the reimbursements. If you want you can send it to me and I will forward it to them, but it might be more convenient for you to send them to him directly.
I'm sorry that it saddens you when I mention that you choose to reject the parcel, but like I mentioned before, this is exactly what you are doing when you ask me to request to send it back to us. It saddens me that you still want this after all our church has done for your parish. Communication is so important and you chose to be silent for these days. It makes me sad.
I was hoping that by now you would've added to the number of apostles, but we will keep this matter in thought while praying.

He's not very communicative anymore. I have to agree with Birlic and think that he did travel and is now licking his wounds. We might never know for sure what happened though. It's no problem, because we had a lot of fun with him and got a lot of nice trophies and entertainment from him.

My opinion:

It seems obvious to me that he was on the border with Ghana, because his current behavior explains everything:
- because he no longer hopes to get his hands on the package => he abandoned the TSC characters and no longer responds to Akwode and Claude's messages. For him, the "package" is a closed story, so he does not continue the dialogue.
- also, because Gerry is hospitalized (so he can't send money to Samuel through the bank)... and because Sister Dave asks him for other tasks (to repair the pyramid and to do Sunday Sermons) => Samuel also ignores now the messages of the "church".

At this moment, he is licking the wounds left by his failed trip to Ghana and does not know what to do about the church. To test this hypothesis, Sister Dave should give him good news: "Gerry has responded very well to the medical treatment and will recover in a few days ... probably next week he will be back at church, fit and healthy". This will make Samuel hope again and I am sure he will return to his previous behavior: obedient and hardworking.

I think the package will be offered to a Ghanaian orphanage and we will close the "Safari in Ghana" chapter here. It is clear to me that we are wasting our time trying to persuade him to travel. His transition from "enthusiasm" to "ignorance" is too sudden and is a clear sign that he himself is no longer considering this option.
- We must give him new hope that Gerry will reappear in the story and that Samuel will receive the promised sponsorships.
- Sister Dave must fall in love with Samuel.

I will be absent all next week, but Linoline can manage everything without any problems.

I am familiar with Lagos. It is a very small state, but the frequent traffic jams adds hours to almost every trip.
Let me know if you need any help selecting a suitable Location for Samuel's safari
