He's not communicating today, so I will wait until tomorrow and then give him the good news that brother Gerry has been scheduled to be released on Sunday evening and can recover at home with the help of one of the nuns who is a nurse.
Monday Birlic will be back in action and maybe Gerry has some words of wisdom for our friend.

Good to know, he used the name of a real hospital but changed it slightly and the address doesn't match. It's close enough to cause confusion though. Sister Dave doesn't do online banking, which is the fastest way of making transfers, so she forwards the info to a young brother at the parish who will take care of it. He finds the hospital, finds the contact of their administrative department online and transfers the money to pay the bill directly to the hospital.
The dying aunt is an opening to a large inheritance that sister Dave will receive and bring with her in cash to a luxurious safari resort. Of course first she needs to get angry with the church for refusing to pay Samuel any more money, but that will all be taken care of in the next few days.

Funny coincidence!! I thought the exact same thing. But I will accept crappy forgery gladly if it makes scumbags like him think he can fool victims this easily. If it looked real the lovebirds would've had a few issues right now.

Unfortunately for our little friend, Sister Dave is already with her aunt and won't read any messages for hours, until the bank transfer to the real hospital has already been done, and can't be revoked of course, unless the hospital itself gives permission to reverse the transaction... but why would anyone want that? The bill needs to be paid and the money is sent... problem solved... right?

Well played Linoline , I can just imagine him exploding!!

Of course when Gerry recovers and gets back to the church he will find out what Sister Dave has done. There are all sorts of administrative problems now because the money allocated to the new parish has already been sent and Samuel's own fault that it didn't get picked up. 

I wonder if the monument of faith is still up? Samuel will have to prove that the parish is still going strong if the elders can be persuaded to send more money... If it all fell apart when he was in hospital then he's not a good reverend surely.

No news from Samuel. I imagine him silently weeping in a corner somewhere.

He's probably full of regret for not taking that extra step to follow along with the church. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

The Gerry before Covid is nothing like the Gerry of after Covid. For one, his near death experience has made him think again about defrauding the church, and also his memory and cognitive functions have been affected as well as his eyesight.
