I wonder if I'll get a picture this evening or not.
If I give him a couple of hours to respond, and still nothing, do you think I should prod him? I could say that without any picture, given I've already bought tickets & accommodation, I'm going to leave the bulk of the cash behind and just go to enjoy myself.
I thought my hostel location was ideal because, if you look at the area on google streetview, it's many small graffiti adorned premises jam packed together. Somewhere it would be hard to find any address, even a legitimate one.

Give him an ultimatum and say that without Paul's "picture" you will NOT go to Greece!... the plane tickets are "open", so you can reschedule the flight for another day. The money is yours, so you can force everything until you get what you want. The scammer must understand that you are "ready to pay", but you are "scared". So he either does the right thing or postpones receiving the money.
You don't have to let him dictate the terms of the meeting! Your money is a strong motivation for him, so in the end he will accept everything. You will definitely get a picture of Paul. I am also convinced that Paul will be very pleased to be waiting for you tomorrow, in the airport lobby, near the Hertz counter. LOL!

He's trying to impose his will on Jim. Of course you will refuse and you will be stubborn.
This is not negotiable! Agent Paul must send his picture, or everything will be postponed.

Neither Google reverse image search or tineye get a match on that photo. It does have metadata. Amongst other fields: CopyrightNotice: Photographer: ΔημητÏης Μιχαλης ΠοÏουτσιδης www.facebook.com/mikrosmhtsakoswho seems to be a photographer with a facebook page.

- Hmm, a fake picture... well, it's not good. I don't think that idiot is going today to the airport. So, Jim is coming back home today... full of disappointment and frustration. - You have the perfect opportunity to offend your scammer and emphasize that the deal has been postponed because of a "lazy and idiotic agent who doesn't understand the importance of a serious business". - Of course you will ask for explanations as to how the scammer chooses his collaborators, because it is obvious that the "agent" Paul is a lazy moron. Don't be afraid to use harsh expressions, because your character is expected to be nervous and frustrated.

Why would he do that? He knows jim won't hand over the money to the wrong person.

Surely that man (from the photo) isn't "agent" Paul. Believe me!
- He probably thinks that a european person has difficulty recognizing a black / asian correctly... because he probably thinks that European people believe all blacks / chinese look the same and look alike! He's wrong of course, but let's play along. - So, if the imposter is the right age and dresses according to the picture, there's a 99% chance Jim won't notice that it is about another person.

Checking the Turkish Airlines status page, it seems the flight for the first hop of my journey really has been cancelled!
A security alert maybe? Could put me in a panic. Even more reason why I must know Mr Paul is waiting at the Hertz desk?

#yesofcourse This is a good opportunity to write to the scammer and ask if the agent has agreed to wait for you at the airport. Because if he didn't accept, then you will give up flying today. You are already very panicked and stressed. Of course you will tell him that there is a delay due to some security reasons and you will send him a verification link (Turkish Airlines webpage). He will be delighted!

- Of course, Jim will eventually be persuaded to make another trip to Athens, but only if the "agent" agrees to wait for him at the airport. You can use the idea of "missing the PLF document" that prevented you from getting on the plane and you can let him wait there for a few hours.
- Then, at the next scheduled meeting, you will be able to claim that you found only air tickets for the route London - Kalamata (a city in southern Greece, 3 hours away from Athens). Of course you will want to meet the new agent there, in Kalamata. I have real pictures from that city and I can help you prove that you are really there.

No word from him since 7 hours ago. I hope he'll contact Jim after having a little time to reflect on the missed opportunity.
>air tickets for the route London - Kalamata
By way of apology for the canceled flight, Turkish Airlines may offer replacement tickets to some other location.
>real pictures from that city
Jim has recently established a presence on the face book. He has a few friends and has joined several dating groups. Point being that I hear people use that book to post their holiday snaps.

Now he would like you to pay that amount online? Hmm, he is an unimaginative imbecile and lacks social intelligence, so he is a scammer who is probably not very successful. This substantial change in his scenario cannot be accepted by someone with a minimal financial culture. So, I suggest you accept his idea ... pay him by MoneyGram and let him talk on the phone with STS's robot.
After that, you can suggest that it would be good for him to find a "diplomat" to meet directly with you, somewhere in the UK... preferably in a webcam location.
