Well, all that I can say is, I'm sorry it didn't work out. I think Kathy was keen to help, and had plans, but plans often don't survive contact with harsh reality. I learned that lesson pretty early on. That's just how it crumbles.
"Sir I know you can help me... Please do something within your power to help me." I tried once. I tried and you threw it back in my face. That ain't easy to forget; that's even less easy to forgive. I spent thousands of dollars for your benefit, and... you remember what you said, and what I said. If you want to convince me to help you, simply saying what you just said ain't nearly enough. What happened in the past I can't say I am wrong neither do I say you are wrong too, is just that shipping company couldn't play their part well they have to direct it to different country. And because of all this issue I have lost a friendship that is helpful to me.

So Mal called the Orphan to discuss what to do next. The Orphan first begged for "little money," and then the conversation turned to the gold.
David's inane asides led to mild anger, and finally Mal lost his temper outright after David laughed at the wrong moment; as in after Mal explained about this PTSD-induced migraines... At least twice the Orphan was muttering under his breath. I wonder what he said..

Mal may offer a lifeline - Cammy's religion considers gold sacred; she might offer to broker a deal with Asatruar in Norway or Sweden, or perhaps the US? I may need someone else to be Cammy's co-religionists, depending on what happens.

Mal just gave his opinions on matters arising from his last call.
25 March 1718 AEST/0618 WAT I remember something I said to you in that last call; two things, actually.
The first thing was, "Don't talk up your situation." You wrote, "here I am still hungry, no food nothing we eat once a day here and not even enough food" - you ain't in Jasenovac or Majdanek. You're in a United Nations refugee camp, and while I don't respect the UN in a lot of things, they don't let people starve.
The second thing was, "You know my attitude towards people who lie." You were muttering under your breath, and from your intonation, I'm damned sure you were cursing me for some reason. You claimed you hadn't spoken. You lied. You were giggling when I was describing the migraines I suffer when the PTSD flares up. You said you weren't giggling. You lied.
I don't like liars, period. I also don't like spoiled brats, whiners and milksops, and people who make fun of another's suffering. Those are three good reasons to cut you loose.
Is this the end?

With no reply to Mal's last message, I'd say that the bait is ended. We could leave The Orphan and Mr Phil to lick their wounds and wonder where they went wrong... at least until I/we think up some new diabolical devilry to unleash upon them.
