Zazah gives an idea for messing with scammers that I'd not thought of. Creating a gmail account, one character different from that of the scammer has potential for all sorts of confusion and payments sent to the wrong place.

As far as I can tell, address is a steakhouse in Queensland Australia. Has some amusingly bad reviews on trip advisor. Has a facebook page although it can't be viewed without logging in.

I've found a top knotch shipping company to take on this job! Next problem is that Zaza wants delivery to an address in Australia. I'm guessing not the scammer, even though the package will contain $12,900 in cash + gifts.
Any thoughts on how to deliver to scammer himself? The cargo plane could be forced to land mid-journey, due to a fuel leak and end up in say ... Chad, but then get stuck there on account of the maintenance staff being on strike.
Any better ideas?

- First of all, you need to get the full name + ID copies for the Receiver. It's probably a mule, but we won't know for sure until we see for sure who we're dealing with.
- Australia is a big continent so (depending on the declared delivery address) we can choose the East coast or something on the West... our colleague Yastreb can help us with good advice.

Maybe if the scam gets this far, Zaza has to send some evidence on to the next one up the chain?
Later that day, Zazah gets mail from Jim's courier, advising him that a parcel is awaiting dispatch at their London depot. The courier needs contact details for the Australian recipient.
Steed > Hobdi
Logging in to the customer portal with does indeed show the parcel waiting in London.

A few hits on the tracking page from an address in Nigeria.
useragent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/70.0.3538.77 Safari/537.36
Which means, I think, that he's using a Windows 8 computer, not a phone.
Zazah also mails the courier customer support the email address & phone number of the parcel recipient.
Hobdi > Steed
The courier contacts the parcel recipient requesting photographic id.
Steed > Mr Robert

I don't know why, but I assume that the "Australian" guy is just a mule and nothing more. We'll see.

Couple more hits on the tracking page, different address but still Nigeria. Exact same useragent, so I think it's the same guy but he has a dynamically allocated address.
Tracking page is updated, showing the recipient but package is still in London, awaiting authentication documents.
No fresh hits on the tracking page beyond those from Nigeria, all with the same useragent. In particular, nothing from Australia. Despite this, the recipient, Mr Robert, mails the courier, wanting to negotiate. I assume he's been told what to say.
Mr Robert > Steed
Zazah's not happy either.
Hobdi > Green
and finally, a hit on the tracking page from Australia
Despite the fact that Mr Steed, from the courier helpdesk has yet to respond to Mr Robert's demand, the courier now receives a image of the package recipient's driving licence.

The courier invoice rescued from the trash seems to pass muster but Zazah and someone mailing as Mr Robert are both concerned that the package is still at London Paddington.
Hobdi > Green Mr Robert > Steed However, they just needed a bit of patience. The package now seems to be en route to Australia, via Cairo.
The driving licence seems to be fake. Hobdi needs to know that the parcel will only be handed over to the individual in the photo.

About 30 hits on the tracking page overnight. The plane still seems to undergoing maintenance at Cairo Airport, possibly some minor mechanical issue. Lewis Steed, of the courier's customer support, checks his inbox in the morning to find a mail from the parcel recipient Mr Robert. Reading down the thread in that mail, it purports to establish that Mr Robert is not the eventual parcel recipient. Mr Robert is expecting to pass on the parcel to a Mr Paul Beach. Maybe even open the parcel, convert the cash to bitcoin and send Mr Beach that.
Mr Robert writes to Lewis Steed as though Mr Beach is already known to him.
Interestingly, Mr Beach is travelling to Nigeria next week on official business in connection with the Presidential Election. Mr Robert > Steed

Well, my 2 cents.
Mr. Beach = your scammer, that's for sure. Mr. Robert = ITP (mule)... we don't know if he's innocent or if he's an accomplice, but we can't find that out for sure either.

Jim learns that his parcel is being delayed. Steed > Green
Jim immediately updates Zazah with this news. Green > Hobdi
and the Australian recipient, Mr Robert is meanwhile wanting to know how long it's going to take to fix the aircraft.
Mr Robert > Steed
Hobdi > Green
Status of the plane has changed to waiting for maintenance.
If the fault turns out to be more serious than initially supposed, the cargo will have to be unloaded and put on a different plane. That would mean everything getting scanned a second time, a procedure that's been known to throw up the occasional discrepency. Hopefully that won't be necessary.

I'm trying to guide Zazah to accept delivery direct to Paul Beach while he is "among the ECOWAS officials that will be going to Nigeria". Direct delivery throughout Africa is operating normally. Alternatively the package will run the risk of a 2nd security scan.

Login every 2 or 3 hours to the tracker page from Australia. Something is definitely wrong with that plane. Zazah is aware of the risks if the cargo is scanned a second time. Surprisingly, he'd rather have yet another attempt at bank transfer than discuss the option of delivery direct to Nigeria. Mr Robert has probably been given advice about the misunderstandings that happen if you unthinkingly copy & paste an entire email thread. Hobdi > Green
Green > Hobdi
Steed > Green & cc Hobdi
So just a quick security check and Jim's package can resume it's journey. No problem.

So I'm ready to attempt an overland delivery of my package containing $13,900 and 2 iphones from Cairo to Ghana!
Not sure how to deal with point (2), somehow I'd have to get location updates from the driver. I've made all sorts of excuses so far as to why I don't use a phone. I should have left one of the phones in the package switched on, to report its location.
Regarding (5), obviously the parcel hasn't been opened. If it had, Vadik would have simply stolen it.
Any advice on how to conduct such a journey appreciated. I hear there are many goats to be avoided.

Regarding #2 - mr. Vadiq is a fucking thief, not a businessman... so of course he refuses to talk on the phone (so as not to be audio recorded)... the package is with him, so he imposes the delivery conditions. It does NOT matter what your scammer Hobdi wants!
Regarding #5 - the parcel is still sealed, because otherwise the money would have been discovered. It's obviously!
You could try to tell Hobdi that you will pay that 1000 to Vadiq, on the condition that he sends the package to Ghana via a fast courier company... that will deliver the package "to the door". LOL! I will be absent all next week, but starting with Monday (February 27th) I will be able to help you with our TSC characters: Claude, Akwode and JooJoo (if you need them and if you can postpone everything by a week). We will pretend that TSC has no offices in Ghana and ask Hobdi to visit Cotonou in Benin.

Yes please!
It just so happens that employees are searched on entry to and exit from the customs area. Great caution is needed. Vadik can only remove items when his friend is on checkpoint duty and their shifts don't coincide until that week.
I'll have Vadik explain that to Jim in his own unique style.

Yeap, it's a perfect plan! The scammer must send the delivery data to Ghana... the new receiver's name and address. We will probably ask for some biometric pictures too, just for fun.

Zazah copies his enquiry to Lewis, together with Lewis' reply to Jim. Next morning Zazah mails Jim a follow up. Hobdi > Green

A few minutes later, Jim figures out how to forward to Zazah the mail he previously sent to Vadik. Preparing Zazah for the argument that it's in everyone's best interests that once the package is removed from the airport, it's entrusted to a professional delivery company.

Zazah tries to persuade Jim to accept that the parcel is lost and to send the $13,900 again.
Hobdi > Green
I suppose Jim would be absolutely convinced that the parcel isn't lost were Vadik to send him a photo of it. Never tried before but could probably add metadata to prove that the photo was recently taken in Cairo, instead of just deleting it all.
